How to fix and resend a failed event
Resolve a failed event directly from the Control Panel and resubmit it for processing.
Before you start
Check that you understand why the event failed. Open the event and read the error message. If the error is caused by a missing or incorrect value that you can correct, proceed below — typical fixable errors include an invalid postcode or malformed characters in a field, for example text in a phone number field. If the cause is a transformation or mapping issue, contact HC before resending — resending without fixing the root cause will produce the same failure again.
If you are not sure what caused the failure, go to I received an alert — what now? first.
Fixing and resending an event (Replicate)
Open the Control Panel and find the failed event. See How to find a specific event in the Control Panel if needed.
Open the event detail.
Click Replicate.
A modal opens showing the event's complete incoming payload.
Find the field causing the error. The error message usually names the field.
Correct the value.
Click Replicate Event. The corrected data is sent for processing.
Return to the event list and refresh after a few seconds to check that the new event has processed successfully.
Resending without editing
If the error was caused by a temporary issue — for example, the destination system was briefly unavailable — and that issue has now been resolved, you can replicate without making any changes:
Open the failed event.
Click Replicate and submit the payload unedited.
Replicating a whole job
If an entire run failed — for example the source system was unreachable or timed out — you can replicate the job rather than individual events. Open the job, click Replicate, review the run's specification (or, for webhook jobs, the original webhook payload) in the popup, and submit. See The Jobs page for more on jobs.
If the event fails again
Same error as before — check whether you edited the right field. If the source data itself is the problem (rather than a value you can correct in the Control Panel), contact HC.
Different error — you may have uncovered a second issue. Read the new error message and repeat the process, or contact HC if the cause is not clear.
