Connecting Claude to HighCohesion (MCP server)

Set up the HighCohesion MCP server in Claude to ask about your integrations in plain English — read-only, using your existing Control Panel login.

You can now connect Claude to your HighCohesion account and ask questions about your integrations in plain English — which streams handle a certain data type, why an event failed, what a lookup table contains — without opening the Control Panel.

Under the hood this is an MCP server: a secure connector that lets an AI assistant read your HighCohesion data on your behalf, using your existing Control Panel login. Nothing is exposed that you could not already see in the Control Panel, and access is limited to your own organisation's data.

Setting up the connector in Claude

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors.

  2. Click Add custom connector and enter the HighCohesion MCP server URL: https://mcp.highcohesion.com/mcp

  3. Claude opens a browser window for login. Sign in with your normal Control Panel account — 2FA included, same as always.

  4. A consent screen asks you to approve read-only access (streams:read). Click approve.

  5. Back in Claude, you're done. To use it in a chat, click + → Connectors and toggle HighCohesion on for that conversation — or just ask something about your integrations and Claude picks up the connection automatically.

The first time you ask something in a new chat, Claude will ask you to approve running a tool called whoami — it is just checking who you are. Approve it and you're set. If you'd rather not approve each tool individually, open the connector's Tools tab and set the tools you use to Always allow.

Using a different AI assistant?

The server is not tied to one assistant, but Claude is the client we have tested and support today. If you use another MCP-compatible client, contact support@highcohesion.com and we will provide the appropriate guidelines.

What it can't do

  • Read-only. No tool can create, edit, delete, or trigger anything — you cannot accidentally break a stream by asking about it.

  • No raw payload dumps beyond stream and config metadata. Occurrence and lookup-table data can still contain real customer identifiers, so treat AI conversations that include it with the same care as any customer data.

  • No access to user accounts. The server cannot read or list users.

Security at a glance

  • Authentication uses your existing Control Panel login, including 2FA — there are no separate credentials to manage.

  • Access is read-only and scoped to your organisation: you see exactly what your Control Panel account can see, and nothing else.

  • You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting the connector in Claude.
